The state in Palestine is an international emergency! While carpet bombing innocent civilians in Gaza, Israel has seized on the opportunity to persecute nonviolent community organizers and expel whole communities from their homes. This includes the torture and eviction of our own executive director Issa Amro from his house in occupied Hebron.

We need your help!

Pick up the phone and report this emergency to the U.S. State Department:

  • 1-888-407-4747 from the U.S. and Canada.

  • +1 202-501-4444 from outside the United States.

Report the torture and eviction of Issa Amro and call for the return of all displaced Palestinians and protection for civilians and nonviolent defenders. Call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza!

We call on you to use all diplomatic tools at your disposal to call on Israel to ensure:

1) Safe return of Issa Amro and all displaced Palestinians to their homes.

2) Protection for all civilians and nonviolent defenders like Issa Amro.

3) Immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a resolution based on the historical roots of the conflict.

4) An end to Israel's ongoing ethnic cleansing, land-taking and system of apartheid in Palestine.

Issa Amro is recognized as a Human Rights Defender by the U.S. State Department, as well as the European Union and United Nations. On October 7th, Mr. Amro was abducted and tortured by Israeli soldiers and settlers in army uniform. Many innocent civilians in the West Bank have similarly been abducted and tortured in the time since. After his release, Mr. Amro was confined to his home and all Palestinian residents of "Hebron 2" placed under strict curfew and faced multiple raids by the Israeli army, while Israeli settlers have begun expanding the settlement project in the city. On October 20th, Amro was evicted from his house without a written order, conflicting with Israel's own laws. Palestinians in Gaza have been forced to evacuate while whole Palestinian communities in the West Bank have similarly been forced out of their homes.

We need to stop this war and solve the conflict from its historical roots. To neutralize extremism and prevent future violence, we need an end to the Israeli occupation and system of apartheid, and an end to the war on Gaza. We need to support the case of nonviolent activists like Issa Amro and other Palestinian human rights defenders instead of allowing their torture and eviction.
